                            Von Heldentum und Abenteuern. In der Überlagerung von Zeichnung und Video werden Klischeebilder von diesen
                            Sehnsuchtsmotiven, aber auch von Reisen und Orientierung übereinander gelegt. In der Überblendung ergeben sich Bilder
                            im Bild: Punktuell, wie durch ein Fernrohr, werden einige Stellen der Zeichnung ins Visier genommen. Projektionen verdoppeln
                            das Bild, lassen Linien verschwinden und Fata-Morgana-Artige Eindrücke bleiben zurück. „Es ist der Versuch große Themen
                            durch Reduktion und Abstraktion von vielen Linien auf die eine – den Horizont, an dem alles zusammen zu laufen scheint –
                            zu bringen. An ihm spiegeln sich die unterschiedlichsten Elemente der Kartografie. Eine neue Karte entsteht und zeigt wie
                            Berge zu Wolken werden, Wolken zu Wellen, Inseln zu Sternen und diese sich wiederum in einem Koordinatensystem auflösen.
                            Grenzen werden ausgetestet, verschieben sich und verschwimmen im Linienmeer.”


                            Adventure, heroism and longing are key themes in the video installation Of heroism and adventure. The superimposition of
                            video and drawing results in a mixture of cliched pictures featuring the motifs of longing and of travelling. This crossfading
                            results in pictures appearing within pictures: details in the drawings are zoomed in on as if they were seen through a telescope.
                            Projections produce aliases, cause lines to disappear and leave behind mirage-like impressions. “It is an attempt to use reduction
                            and abstraction to collapse the many lines of great themes into one –the horizon –which everything seems to gravitate towards.
                            It is the horizon that mirrors the most diverse elements of cartography. A new map emerges, showing how mountains morph into
                            clouds, clouds into waves, islands into stars and how these again dissolve in a system of coordinates. Boundaries are put to the
                            test, shifted –and then disappear altogether in a welter of lines.“
